Pushya is considered the most auspicious of the 27 nakshatras for starting something durable — buying gold, gemstones, property or vehicles, or opening a new account — though it is traditionally avoided for weddings. When Pushya falls on a Sunday it becomes Ravi Pushya Yoga, and on a Thursday, Guru Pushya Yoga — both considered even stronger for purchases, since the Moon's own auspicious nakshatra combines with the Sun or Jupiter's day.
